As we celebrate our second month since establishing our YFIA Movement. I have realized that the Holy Spirit is truly alive and has descended in our hearts, as I saw the dedication of each one of us to serve and become
better for God by living and abiding by our C.A.R.E Lifestyle, and theological Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. I also saw people who I thought were not willing to commit but were empowered to accept the yoke of responsibility and Leadership within the YFIA National Council.

For myself, I could also feel the presence of the Holy Spirit being alive, as He strengthened me when I was in doubt and inspired me to keep going even though I think down on myself at times. The Holy Spirit sanctifies and makes the impossible possible, this is why we must always invoke Him in our prayers and if possible, always be in a state of grace for us to easily carry out God’s mission for all of us. Along with invoking the Holy Spirit, I would also want to add one of YFIA’s Patron who celebrated his feast day last July 4, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati as our model, and inspiration, especially to our YFIA brothers in our mission in the coming years.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati is a man who always abides by the Gospel and is greatly remembered for his way of life that is truly in line with Jesus’ teachings of the Beatitudes.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, A Man who Live abide by the Beatitudes:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs, is the kingdom of heaven. Pier Giorgio was never attached to wealth. He would often give away even his bus fare to the poor and run home instead. He never hesitated to give to
others whatever they needed.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Pier Giorgio’s life was oriented to do the will of God. His hours of adoration and selfless love of the poor are witnesses to that reality.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. This beatitude is about detachment from power. From everything we know about Pier Giorgio, his life revolved around helping others rather than becoming known for his accomplishments. Power never seemed to be a priority for him.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. Pier Giorgio only wanted to be honored by God. He didn’t care about honor or praise from the world. His family often misunderstood his desire to help the needy.
And although he was well-liked by many, approval was not something he strove for or clung to.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. This beatitude is all about receptivity to God and the desire to do the right thing. The many hours Pier Giorgio spent in adoration of Jesus
in the Eucharist helped dispose of him for receptivity to God’s will. His actions outside of adoration show a clear desire to do what was right for those around him.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Pier Giorgio heaped mercy and compassion on the forgotten of Turin. Because he had opened his heart to God, God gave him the grace of strength to persevere in the work he was meant to do.

Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. This is all about the desire for God’s will to be done in us. Pier Giorgio felt this so intensely that he ended up dying in the service of the sick, knowing all along the
dangers of what God’s will meant for his life.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. This is about living a life of truth and joy. Pier Giorgio lived a joyful life that brought peace to himself, and everyone helped by his generosity and
care.

May we all set the actions of Blessed Pier Giorgio as an example of our service as Young Faith In Action who are willing to abide by the beatitudes and extend one’s self for the Good of our brothers and sisters especially
the less fortunate ones and those forgotten by society.

Lastly, especially for the brothers, let us always look upon Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati wherever we are lost. Let us always remember to pray, give to the poor, and always have faith in the Lord. As true happiness is
always found in Him.

With my prayers, I remain.
